It is sort of fitting as we are from a brewery town, and going to a brewery town.

Also I seem to have been persuaded to take my concert pitch #NorthumbrianSmallpipes with me though I doubt there will be much opportunity to play the #NSP while we are there.

The good news is I’ve picked up my NSP again. The bad news is that the B music of “Because he was a Bonny lad” keeps coming out as the B music of “Buttered Peas”.

Yesterday went well, if somewhat melting at points such as on the sun-blasted market square (where we cut the set short in the afternoon). What will I do today? I know, go to a broiler of a village hall to play some music at CamFrench! Hope that my NSP behave in the warm as I find the D minor tunes a complete pain on the box…

French music and dance session in Cambridge was fun, though it underlined that I can’t play unfamiliar/little played tunes at all quickly in C, Dm or Gm on my melodeon. Epiphany near the end though, if I play on my F NSP chanter that’s Em, Am and D - all of which I can probably wing at sight reading!
So, time to transpose the CamFrench tune book up a tone :-)
