A job somewhat out of the ordinary today: contributing to editing my own video lecture.

The National Library of commissioned my institute NIBR at University to have me record a 30 minute video.

Task: Help high school students get an overview of and history that will allow them to better understand why the temperature is so high in conflicts between the Norwegian government and Sámi over natural resources.

Patrice Curtillat is a brillant producer (alias Poborsk or Bill Vortex, released on CPU Records, Icasea, invited or remixed by Autechre, Luke Vibert, Mesak...) and Fred Serendip, deep crate digger (curator of french boogie compilations Chébran 1&2, reissue of proto techno project Hypnobeat, french synth wave, and recently 80s raï music) form the intrepid duo Nabil Vortex. Unearthing and remixing retro Arabic music (raï, chaoui, chaabi...), equally at home in the damp cellars of squats as in clubs or art centres, they take you on a modern tale; a story going from Casablanca and Algiers, to Pairs, Lyon, Marseille, where the golden age of the cassette reflects the musical effervescence of that time. Always so catchy, this music with funky breakbeats, reggae's skank, or techno's drum machines, is being fitted for the club. Slightly reworked, they thus reveal to a new generation a blend of influences for an unstoppable dance and trance.

We also kick of the night with top notch folk music from Gjermund og Einar Olav Larsen and there will also be a dance lesson (!?) for those who wants to learn traditional dance!

So remember that yeast from post 17? I didn't want to throw it away, so I transferred it along with a clunk of what beer was left in the fermentor to a one litre jar. Within ten minutes it was already making it's escape (so much activity it overflowed the jar), so I had to transfer it to a larger jar and put it in the fridge. Tomorrow I'll drain the beer, and simply freeze it

17/ Keg it like you mean it

So after ~75 hours of fermentation, it's time to keg this bad boy. Fermentation is probably not 100% done, but the rest will make sure there's some carbonation in the keg. Trad beers are supposed to be flat (think of cask ales), so that's not a big problem. Gravity is approx 1015, so it might drop a bit more. It should ideally stop at ~1020, but I mashed too cold.
