May 3rd in Straumsbukta with our guide Inga. We drove up a road built by our guide's grandfather and great-uncles, and walked across the field where the grass should be green and growing, but the stubborn winter has halted spring. Down by the ocean, however, the sun peaks out, and the warmth takes us nearly by surprise as we gently traverse a quiet soundscape. A crowing rooster and singing gulls our steady companions.
