Sounds like a IOU? We all know what happens with IOUs, people start trading them rather than the asset itself and it allows all sorts of dodge.

Just remember – not your keys, not your bitcoin.

Trusted institutions will need to handle any Layer2 though, bitcoin can only really handle 500 million people making a transaction every two years.

So we still need trusted institutions. The hope is they will be smaller. *wink*
