A mostly #silentsunday at #greatmeadows with only the calls of geese, red-winged blackbirds, swans, mallards, wood ducks, goldeneyes, chickadee, song sparrows. The beaver lodge has been there for ages. There used to be lots of muskrat push-ups, but they have disappeared over the last 2 years. #getoutside #getoutdoors #notabirder

Pretty good cast of characters for our late afternoon walk around the impound at the #greatmeadows : eagle, mergansers, golden-eye, mallards, red-winged blackbirds, mute swans, one beaver. However, what always amazes me are these microclimate areas of the marsh where the wind has flattened the cattails into total submission. #getoutside #getoutdoors #naturelovers #notabirder

One of the weaknesses that I possess with respect to being a volunteer naturalist is that I'm not much of a #birder. Don't really care much about the birds except that they need to be in the environment, so I #Garden for them too.

It's also cool that they're kinda like tiny dinos, but I don't really care about them; I like #invertebrates
