Erneut Abschuss eines unbekannten Flugobjekts über dem nordamerikanischen Luftraum durch einen #US-Kampfjet #F16 , nunmehr also der vierte Treffer. Nach Angaben des #Pentagon wurde gestern (12.2.2023) ein weiteres Flugobjekt zerstört, erneut an der Grenze zwischen den USA und Kanada. Der jüngste Abschuss hatte sich abgezeichnet, da vorher sog. #Notams veröffentlicht wurden (Notice to Air Missions = Warnungen, dass Piloten mit ihren Flugzeugen nicht in ein bestimmtes Gebiet fliegen dürfen). #UFO

As an old AF aviator and current private pilot, I know the NOTAM system. Back in the day, airfields had a telex printer that spit out NOTAMs on long strips of yellow paper, stuck in clipboards screwed into the wall, one clipboard for each region of the USA. Crews would check NOTAMs in their regions, flipping through looking for airfield identifiers—KORD, KATL, etc.

Computerization is great—really great—but without an emergency backup, I’d prefer those strips of yellow paper. #NOTAMs

– FAA says failure of ‘Notice to Air Missions (NOTAMs) Systems, which gives pilots essential info e.g. issue at airports, on runways

Woran ich täglich merke, daß DE indirekt doch sehr in den russ. Krieg in der Ukraine involbiert ist?
Ich lebe als priv. Möchtegern-Drohnenpilot in relativer Nähe zu zwei Flugjäfen der Bundeswehr bzw. NATO, und lese sogenannte #NOTAMs.

In diesen NOTAMs werden wichtige Infos zum Luftraum an Pilot*innen verteilt, d.h. wo man fliegen darf oder nicht, an welchem Windrad gerade die Positionslichter kaputt sind u.s.w.
