I'm day 5 or 6 into this stupid cold virus and I'm improving but not fast enough for my liking. I got a bit more sleep last night, but still playing catch up, and now my face hurts.

@novid The same presenter just remarked, sounding a little out of breath, “Of COURSE my voice decides to…do this…right now!” It’s not her voice, though. She’s coughing! She looks tired. But she’s still on #TV, at work, trying to work while visibly sick.

Even though it was a pretty reckless choice for her to go to work today, I’m sure her employer pressured her to come in anyway because of course it’s #NotCovid! #Covid is over! /s

@TenTonHeart Mike, I am sorry you are still plagued with long term issues. We continue to mask. I have had some #notcovid crud. We are avoiding going out in public if we possibly can. Ken ventured to Costco & he was the only masked person in the entire store.

It seems so many people have moved on from worrying about COVID in the past few months even as things get worse. Countries like the China and UK have discontinued any semblance of monitoring and the US is not far behind.

Yet COVID still is a novel virus, the SARS part stands for Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome. Not Mild Respiratory Syndrome. Entire office places are emptied regularly due to people being sick, or they come in anyway.

Its rough and yet the waters have been muddied so much from bad messaging, disinformation, and poor studies that people think the masks don't work, and that the vaccines work (or don't work at all - depends on who you ask), and think that tests are accurate, and that they're doing what they're supposed to do by washing their hands.

This has of course caused fighting among people who do care or simply have given up. The outcome of all this is pretty grim, but in the end leaders failed to protect us and it seems like we are on a path to fail with so many challenges happening all at once.

I still see everyone coming into work sick with " #NotCovid " (still figuring out mastodon, pardon me if the posts seem weird while I am). One person messaged me last night to tell me she tested +, so nice to see some are still testing. She was wearing a mask around me at least. We kept our distance. Here's to hoping I don't catch the "not COVID"!

Also had someone tell me they woke up with a "chest cold" yesterday. 🤦 He is a cig smoker. His antimask beliefs will catch up with him. MASK UP.
