Notepad++ has this feature where you can hold your Alt-key and it allows you to select text in a "rectangle", like, you can select text above or below where you start, but at the same place in every line, not marking the full lines. (hard to describe).

Does anyone know if @kde's "Kate" also has this feature?
I'd really like that and luckily propose it for the future. 🙂

@kyle @idan Recording all the interactions has become critical for me, too, because I can't always predict which little interaction will blow up tomorrow, or next week, or in three months. I was typing sporadic meeting notes in #markdown with #notepadplusplus and (sometimes) moving them to the Notes app on #nextcloud. As of this past week, I found #logseq and am blown away by the efficiency and productivity increases I'm getting.

@lampjaded I can wholeheartedly recommend #NotepadPlusPlus for doing just this! It's not built into windows but it's open source, lightweight and *much* more powerful. Give it a whirl and you won't go back - it's been one of the first things I install on new Windows machines for well over a decade :)

Just found out that my favorite #Windows text editor #NotepadPlusPlus has a #Markdown plugin called #MarkdownViewerPlusPlus!

Now I can compose my posts here and see what they'll look like as I type.
