@daviddelven Hmm. For me, #PKM and #notetaking are modal. Sometimes, it’s about capturing everything as quickly as possible. (I tell myself I’ll clean up later. And I do. Sometimes. 😮) But other times, it's about thoughtful reflection and seeking connection -- and that's when Properties become really useful. I *like* musing over how one thing connects to another. Is reflection and thoughtfulness friction? If so, my vault has never been frictionless ... but it's always been useful. #Obsidian

I've just given #denote, a yet another #emacs note-taking solution, a trial. I was amazed how working such a simple notes environment can be relaxing. For anyone comfortable enough with Emacs I recommend giving denote a trial. You very well find the distraction free environment quite helpful for concentrating on developing thoughts rather than crafting systems of structured metadata. #pkm #notetaking

I feel like I started using zim wiki(https://zim-wiki.org/) because I wanted to find an open source python notepad app with the idea 8+ years ago that I'd be able to modify it how I'd like someday and improve it however I might need.

That journey is still ongoing but it definitely feels closer to happening lol.

Time is a wild thing.

How does everyone use #Bookmarks on #Mastodon? Do you just save everything for ever and ever amen? Or do you go ever go through them and process them in some way?

I think search includes your bookmarks (?) -- if so, that makes the saving-everything approach feel less like hoarding...

On the other hand, I am looking at my bookmarks and realizing how often I say "I'll come back to that!" and then never come back to that.

(These are the things I think about when I am procrastinating on actual work, lol... although I am cleaning up my #notetaking and #pkm processes a bit, so this isn't a completely random rabbit hole.)
