Allstarlink installation is under way, on new (to me) hardware. Since we’ve been shifting away from Pi in the @N3VEM #HamRadio shack, the final decision was to use a traditional PC (an inexpensive refurbished one) instead of going the single board computer route, since most single board computers that are #notraspberrypi seem be difficult to get allstarlink running on. Hopefully this works out better!
The replacement for my dead Pi that was running my Allstar node should arrive tomorrow. I ordered a @librecomputer Renegade, and will try to get ASL running on it. If that works out I’ll be sure to make an image available, in case anyone else wants to do a #notraspberrypi Allstarlink node.
I’ve got #hamclock running in the shack again. Now I’ll just have fiddle with all the settings to get it displaying the stuff I want to see😀
For those interested, I have it running on a #notraspberrypi - it’s on a Libre Computer LePotato, running the Armbian XFCE image. Directions for downloading and building it are at clearskyinstitute.com/ham/hamclock
I just followed the steps on ‘desktop’ tab, for “To install HamClock on Other UNIX-like systems…”
Delivery truck just brought some stuff, including another #notraspberrypi Libre Computer LePotato. This one will be used so that I can get a dedicated #hamclock running again, since I had stolen the other SBC for my repeater (@n3vemrepeater)
A while back I stole the Pi that I had #hamclock running on, for another purpose. Wanted to get hamclock running again in the shack though, so I just ordered up another Libre.computer lePotato, since I’ve decided to go #notraspberrypi for single board computer projects.
Maybe we need a new hashtag 😀. This is the #notraspberrypi thing I’ve been building, based around a Libre Computer LePotato - a ground station for receiving #LoRa and #aprs telemetry from a model rocket
