Everyone keeps talking about the GOP "collapsing"/"imploding"/"self destructing"/etc.

If that is the case, then why do they have MORE power now than they did just a few months ago? They did not gain as much power as they had hoped to, sure. But they still have the power to hold the country hostage in many ways right now. That is exactly what they wanted.
