#COVID19 Induces #Neuroinflammation & Suppresses Peroxisomes in the Brain
“The present studies point to a role of persistent neuroinflammation, especially inflammasome activation, and peroxisome biogenesis factor suppression as contributing determinants of the neurological sequelae of #COVID-19”

Gut microbiota from patients with #COVID19 cause alterations in mice that resemble post-#COVID symptoms
“we report the gut microbiota of #postCOVID subjects had a remarkable predominance of Enterobacteriaceae strains with an antibiotic-resistant phenotype compared to healthy controls. Additionally, short-chain fatty acid (SCFA) levels were reduced in feces”

I retested today, including a cheek swab and it was just as negative. I feel fine today.
Don't know what that 2-day wonder was but I guess I'm still on Team #novid.

@Kjl I hear you. It’s so tiring and disheartening. No need to make life shorter or add damaged organs to the mix. My husband is recovering from his second round with #covid a year apart. His memory is absolutely not the same. His hearing is shot (hopefully for the moment but he hears so much less). My memory has never been great. That keeps me grounded and this is why I will continue to protect my #novid (I hope/I think) status. #maskup
#novid no more! 😭 3.5 years of caution and constant masking. Has it been a week since the govt dropped the ball entirely?
Most likely the kids brought it home from school even though the little heroes are wearing masks every day. But one mask can only go so far in a crowded classroom with 20 unmasked people. So gutted! 🤬

Has anyone seen a 3M 6000 or other 3M respirator painted in the same way nickelpin painted a bunch of the Dentec respirators? Is it possible to do this?! #BringBackMasks #COVIDcautious #NOVID #CovidIsNotOver #COVIDisAirborne

So, people are still afraid of covid. Just not enough to overcome the peer pressure and/or denial and wear a mask.
I had to get my car emissions tested, and figured I would call ahead to see how accommodating they would be, and ask if I could stay outside. The receptionist misunderstood and thought I was saying that I have covid. Someone else (store manager maybe?) took the phone, and nicely told me to call when I arrive. This person met me outside and brought my car in for me.
Well, the people in the garage must have been told that I had covid. They tested my car with it just outside of the garage, and returned it to me with all of the windows open.
They clearly knew that covid is to be feared, and tried to isolate themselves from the perceived risk of my car. But none of them were masked. I guess it’s ok to “other” a potentially sick stranger, but not to “other” themselves by wearing a mask?

I think I missed my calling as a D-grade comedian. Unfortunately (fortunately, actually), even if I were to pursue it, the people that would actually get my jokes would never come to my shows.
Managed to dodge getting #Covid from my husband after he decided to hang out in the airport/airplane for two days without a mask “most” of the time. When it got crowded he threw it on. Still isolating because I don’t want #rebound Covid from him. #maskup #CovidIsNotOver #COVIDisAirborne So very grateful for my precautions and will tighten them up moving forward because I want to stay a #novid (as far as I know).
BUT - finding out was so difficult. Even though our insurance covers PCR tests I had to pay $128 to Walgreens (CVS in our area of NC no longer provides PCR tests) to get the test (will get reimbursed). Went Saturday morning because of timing. Labcorp didn’t pick the sample up until Monday night - which was very close to the 72 hour mark Walgreens promised me an answer. Surprisingly got my results same day in the evening 80 hours later. Very grateful.
IF I needed #Paxlovid and didn’t have insurance apparently its a good $500+ since the government has run out. But We’ve Got the Tools - right?

Question for the COVID cautious hive mind:
I want to get my kids a couple guinea pigs and I can't find breeders in my area which means we'd be stuck with a pet store, probably.
What do you think of the risk of contracting COVID from a pet store guinea pig? We had a plan for quarantining them for a couple weeks before bringing them into our house and unmasking around them. I'm still wondering about the risk that they'd be asymptomatic persistent carriers, though, and that they may start shedding virus at some point in the future. Is this even something I need to worry about?
So... Are we going to start talking about post-collapse meeting points for survival, reformation, and rebuilding? I feel like we need to figure this out before things progress too far...
Commune, anyone?
