A few years ago Dr Anne Curry at the University of Southampton undertook a project to transcribe hundreds of Medieval rolls containing the names of knights, men at arms & archers who were taking part in the 100 Years War.
To my great surprise, my Medieval Nowell family from #Read in #Lancashire appeared in the database 88 times.
This enabled me to research several of the campaigns.
