It's wild to me that we have known about MWC 349A since the late '80s but only just now noticed the material jet blasting out of its center at "impossibly high speeds," according to the NRAO.

#Astronomy observatories are often in out of the way places, and #NRAO is no exception: Socorro is a town of under 10,000. This can bring some challenges. Today's challenge was trying to get a hair cut.
In small towns like this, Apple and Google maps can be quite out of date. This proved to be the case here. One barber was now a State Farm agent; another was a pet groomer. The other two were only open weekdays, during office hours.
This might explain why so many #astronomers here have long hair!
