Any recommendations for microcontrollers to check out?
I've used the esp32 (modules) quite a bit since they are cheap, pretty powerful and don't require much in terms of supporting components but they are bulky and power hungry.
I really like the nrf52 line because they are great for low power and have neat features like being able to run from a battery directly with an internal switching regulator, bluetooth and usb device.
Should I try an STM32? They are popular

I'm looking for a pretty specific dev board that I'm not sure exists.
I want a small board, maybe round, with a coin cell holder, supporting circuitry, and an #esp32 or #nRF52 sort of microcontroller with some GPIOs exposed.
Some will carry environmental sensors (temp, humidity, nothing exciting), and another device will have just a tilt sensor that wakes it up to send a ping when the sensor toggles.
The idea is to put them places I don't like to go, like the attic and crawlspace.
