An independent evaluation of the National School Chaplaincy Program (NSCP) has endorsed plans to broaden the scheme to include secular support staff.

It also recommended changes to the implementation of the program: clearer operational guidelines, a more consistent delivery in terms of funding and professional development, better oversight and accountability mechanisms, and a comprehensive review of the role of the program in the long term.
