Ugh, I feel bad for the city and everyone involved in what was supposed to be tonight's outdoor all-ages free new year's eve party at Grand Parade -- it's already started raining and it's supposed to rain harder and harder until about 5am. I think this was the first time they've had a NYE in-person gathering since 2019/2020, too.

The pressure systems here, for 3:00 AM AST Sat Dec 24, are something else. Out here in #Halifax we'll feel it mostly as wind (gusts to 100 km/h (54 kt)) and rain, but Southern Ontario is going to get a walloping of snow.

The other interesting part out east is that it's pulling tropical air from far south of us, bringing the *overnight* temperature up to 12ºC (53ºF) in the time of year where normal overnight temperatures are below 0ºC (32ºF).
