Would not be the first time for me to forget about the little #NUC in the corner still running #OpenBSD withouth a hassle.. or the #FreeBSD #NAS 😂
(Same goes for #NetBSD to of course!)

Also, for me personally, #Debian is the same.

En fait j’adore mon nouvel ordinateur, un Intel #nuc.

Prend pas de place, tourne super bien, ne chauffe pas (hyper appréciable en ce moment !), donc ne fait pas de bruit.

D’ailleurs, comme il est livré sans HP intégrés, il ne fait VRAIMENT pas de #bruit et c’est super reposant de ne pas entendre sans cesse des notifications ou de se faire surprendre par le boucan d’une vidéo qui démarre sans mon consentement.

Did #beehive inspections today. Our original #hive is still in stasis - a lot of #honey, but very little brood, & are only working on the original 5 drawn out frames that came with the #nuc we purchased in spring. There must be a new #virginqueen in the hive because we saw a few larva. We cannot figure out why she hasn't laid a bunch of brood, unless she died recently. Stumped.

In contrast, our swarm hive is outta control & made burr comb on the underside of the queen excluder!😂 #Beekeeping /1

Picked up a new Intel NUC 13 Pro (i7) last week to use as a travel VMware host / Windows machine. I gotta say, I'm rather impressed. Even with the embedded Intel graphics, it can play some decent Xbox PC games too. Way more than I was expecting and way better than carrying at 15" Lenovo laptop.

The last attempt to resurrect my NUC. I noticed abnormal CPU temperatures during every stress test, about 96 degrees. Will replace the thermal paste and pads between the CPU and radiator. Maybe add some lubrication to a fan.

When the hard- and software stars align: Came across a tutorial specifically for installing #MacOS #Catalina on an #Intel #NUC #Hades #Canyon, and what do you know? Since I build myself a new PC I had a NUC going unused. I dabbled before with generic #Hackintosh on NUC, but this one is very targeted to the the #NuCi7HNK2 with great install results. Ok, #memtest gives zero errors, and I proceeded to a #CPU stress testing with stress-ng... Know what? It freezes my #NUC immediately. Looks like I'm the lucky owner of the dying CPU or motherboard.

Decided to perform all possible tests on my #NUC which is crashing frequently to exclude hardware issues. Stay tuned =)

So my #NUC keeps crashing randomly. As I don't have #Nextcloud there anymore, the only important thing left was Nginx Proxy Manager.
Thanks to @frenck we could have Nginx Proxy Manager on the Home Assistant machine as an add-on.

Now my faulty #NUC is just a Plex server with various *arr software. The crashes are not critical anymore, by still annoying.

Ran #FreeBSD and #OpenBSD on #NUC's before.
Had no issues at all.
Worth considering is the WIFI hardware and maybe the system being bleeding edge... other than that it should be smooth sailing 😉
Had two #NUC's from 2019 which ran #BSD and a older one from 2014 which also had no issues.

@jhx Is migrating a #NUC from #Linux to #FreeBSD is possible?
I mean is hardware is well detected and is performance is good too compared to #Linux ?
