EVs are just cars with a bit less emissions and other externalities moved elsewhere on the planet.

Solar #photovoltaics and #wind power also have externalities that are largely ignored. They are not perfect.

Quite predictable #nuclearpower is absent in your comment.
To succesfully transition away from fossil fuels we also need nuclear.

Many nations are embracing #nuclearpower as a #lowcarbon energy generating technology. Meanwhile the massively expensive and as yet unsolved disposal problem of #radioactivewaste threatens all life forms over the long term. The current favoured solution is to bury the high and intermediate level wastes. #fukushima #chernobyl #hanford #sellafield are massively contaminated sites. #water

Oh wow. I just tried to get someone to admit that, yes, France does get a lot of electricity from nuclear energy.

But instead of even a »yes, but«, I got, over several exchanges:

- that deforestation is a problem
- that he has personally planted a lot of trees
- that he has a GPA of 3.9, and a PhD, and whatnot
- that I am fooled by propaganda
- that I am not qualified
- that I am blocked
