Tomorrow marks the 10 year anniversary of my epic cycling tour from Adelaide to Perth across the Nullarbor - alone and unsupported. It was quite the adventure - met so many great ppl along the way who were cheering me on. The most memorable moment was on a day where the wind and rain nearly got the better of me but I had no choice but to pedal on. This driver pulled up next to me and handed me two blocks of chocolate for energy. He said he'd done the trip himself and knew what a challenge it was on a day like this. My gratitude knew now bounds!
Worst were the countless tourist paparazzi who had no regard for my privacy at all and just 'had to take a pic', sometimes even endagering me and other drivers. They were worse than the gazillion flies!
I chose ANZAC day to leave in honour of my dear old friend (who has since passed at the ripe age of 101) - she served her country with pride and was quite an inspiration. She was my greatest supporter too, unwavering and never doubted me.

Vandals have destroyed a 30,000-year-old artwork at a #sacred cave in #SouthAustralia, as experts decried the “massive, tragic loss” and expressed frustration at the lack of protection at the site.
The vandals entered Koonalda Cave at #Nullarbor Plain and scrawled graffiti across the heritage-listed site.

Is the Nullarbor "null and a bore"? No! But it's also not exactly action packed. You don't need to spend days on it We just hit the WA border after traveling the #Nullarbor in one day and checking out the #greataustralianbight. We've still got a few mostly empty hours of this section of WA to do but we're excited to be here. Next major stop: Esperance!

#cycling fun fact - cycled across the #Nullarbor without accident or flat tyre. Never fear the road trains - they are pros, courteous and very considerate.
In my small town I got attacked by a dog whilst riding, taken down by another (resulting in a # hip), flat tyres and taken out by a car in a roundabout (more # bones).
