But it's a process! If you've worn mass produced shoes on your feet all your life, your feet are cast to the shape of a shoe. Takes time for feet to correct the damage - just as an arm freed from a cast needs to recover from such limitation

If there is ice cream in the house, I'm going to eat it. If there is sofa, it's hard to resist sitting on it. If I make it easier to do the healthy version of life, and more difficult to do the unhealthy version, I increase the ratio of healthy to unhealthy in a way that *feels* effortless - thereby satisfying that weird instinct I have to avoid doing the things that loom like "Go do exercise."

Decided to check out as an organizational technique as I settle in on an acknowledged goal of finishing my by May 19.
Usually a goal like that results in me ignoring other key aspects of my personal life, so I'm practicing fitting multiple daily goals into one brain. :)

I found and am finding it fairly intuitive and engaging.

Getting my 🦆 🦆 in a row. Gonna spend less time on the web (putting stuff out of the way so I have to go find it every time)
Spend more time on (I sit on the floor, stand, stand on one foot, lay on my side, any time I'm not walking or running or swimming or sleeping, but I need to do more of those most active ones and less of those first ones)
And at set times for set amount of times, even tho that doesn't sound spontaenous & creative. Because otherwise I don't write.

@BobWilliams You’ve touched on a topic close to my heart. Standing, sitting, posture, body positioning — pick 17 (random number to denote the need for variety) and alternate between them. Most of us have the wonderful opportunity to practice throughout the day. Katy Bowman is great inspiration for this, as is MovNat.

I talk and because seriously, learning from her resulted in the simplest but most profound improvements in my physical well-being. I was already which is how I discovered her. For your own health, just give her a tiny bit of your attention and you will be So. Glad. You. Did.

Just saw a psa about teaching myself to open my car door with my right arm, forcing me to look back for possible oncoming cyclists! I only occasionally street park, but I will practice every time because is a game changer, and the more you 'require' yourself to move for every day tasks, the more you get every day.
I just made that last part up right now and am stretching as I pat myself on the back. :agooglehearts:

@MarilynPF Never ever exercise. But any ol' way or time you want. And I hope you because man that is something I didn't do most my life and now that I do I'm like WTF! This feels amazing!
But I like to smoke a bowl first, and I have to literally go in the attic or our sit on top of me and make stretching really difficult. Not unpleasant necessarily, but less about stretching and more about avoiding getting licked inside my mouth.

@MarilynPF It has. :ablobcatattention: Got our 1st trampoline 30 years ago. I am glad I did not know all the things my kids actually dared to do. It's really good for my lymphatic system. I am super into and willing to accept *some* risks to get it

If you've never heard of Katy Bowman you really wanna. She's a biomechanist & her advice is backed up by science.
Plus it's super fun to completely change your body's habits and feel better and move better and think more clearly and stuff. I'm paleo too but that's for another day. :mastowink:
