@shipp I agree, although I guess because I have tended to focus on #RSSReaders that don't have that functionality, it isn't as important to me.

I was becoming a fan of #Nuzzel back before #Twitter purchased it, and was interested in what was then still the emerging #TwitterBlue service because I thought that integration could offer a really compelling #SocialNews service in Twitter.

#Inoreader has this sort of functionality built into it although it is local to the Inoreader network.

Perhaps one day (soon 🙏 ) we will see a RSS Reader with #ActivityPub support to facilitate this sort of conversational news?

Ik was jarenlang fan van Nuzzel, waardoor ik dagelijks een overzicht kreeg van de meeste gedeelde links/tweets op Twitter. Toen dat stopte heb ik een tijdje TweetQureet gehad.

Twitter is nu verleden tijd en voor Mastodon zocht ik ook een dergelijke tool. Ik volg daarom sinds kort @quintsns waarvan ik dagelijks een DM krijg met de meest gedeelde links in mijn tijdlijn. Ik vind het handig, vooral als ik een dag weinig heb kunnen volgen. #Quintessence #curation #Nuzzel

Loving the new @quintsns #bot by @ctbk. It’s like #Nuzzel, but for Mastodon. Once a day, it sends you a DM with the top 10 links that have been shared by people you follow. I received my first one today and it’s fantastic!

In my search for a #nuzzel replacement, I've been trying out several news aggregators. What I find particularly annoying about them is that even if you add a bunch of high quality and lefty news sources, and block a bunch of garbage news sites, they keep pushing news from garbage news sites you didn't think to block, and hardly ever surface stuff from the quality journals you did add. Might not be caused by a conspiracy against decent journalism, but certainly the effect it has.

After the other site bought and shut down nuzzle I used #Tweetshelf for many years, but now that I've deactivated my account I feel a bit lost without my personalized newspaper every morning 😢
