Neovim v0.9.2 is now available

This is the first Neovim release since Bram Moolenaar passed away and the archival/deprecation of both null-ls.nvim and packer.nvim.

Is anyone running into any issues with this release (particularly if you use null-ls or packer)? How are the Neovim distros (eg - NvChad, AstroNvim, LazyVim, LunarVim, etc.) performing after the update?

Feel free to try out #fish and #zsh...

The latter one became #macOS's Standard after #bash went #GPLv3 and #Apple froze the Version of bash for half a decade.

And with suites like #OhMyZsh one can really rice that setup harder than #neovim + #nvChad...

AFAIK @fuchsiii is rocking that setup...

And so, I got tired of trying to configure :neovim: #Neovim from scratch. Using a distro is the sanest thing I can do at this point.
#NvChad is pretty cool.

Questioning myself why i did not look into nvChad earlier. This is so good!

@datenritter @frainfostudent people like @fuchsiii would rather point to #neovim and people like @fireship_dev@bird.makeup / #fireship will recommend adding #NvChad to it for ease of use but #nano and #ne work just fine if one needs to rarely change stuff...

Hi Fediverse,

if you are a #NeoVim/ #Vim user and use it as your IDE, how do you manage your configuration? Are you doing everything from scratch by yourself, or are you using a distribution/script like #AstroVim, #NvChad, #Spacevim, any other?

As of now, I use NeoVim but with my old VimScript style config from Vim. As some thinks broke, thinking about switching to a different way of managing my NeoVim configuration and probably switching to Lua for this, but am lazy doing everything by hand!

Mais je retourne la lire et cette fois ça fonctionne !!!

Je n’ai pourtant changé qu’une petite chose : au lieu de lire la page, j’ai lu attentivement la page

I've been really enjoying goofing around with preconfigured #neovim distros. I put together my own, and that was fun, but there are people _way_ better than me at this kind of thing.

#NVChad really has my attention right now. I like what it comes with and the mappings are super close to what my muscle memory wants anyway.

The NVIM_APPNAME env var is such a killer feature for trying stuff out without having to wipe our your stuff every time.

Fun fact : I've been tweaking my own #nvim config from scratch and I've already made wayyy much progress than when I started from #nvchad.
I'm kinda angry at myself from not being able to rely on something that does 90% of the work if I'm not able to build a mental model around it, but eh, I guess only result matters 🤷

Embarking on a #neovim adventure, wish me luck 😅

You can find an attempt to mimic the #VSCode in #NeoVim. Take a look at NVIM-IDEA [https://github.com/ldelossa/nvim-ide]. But this one will be better - #NvChad [https://github.com/NvChad/NvChad]. Learning #Vim is a good investment of your time. If someone tells you differently, they never finished the Vim tutorial. So don't trust those people.
