That seems so incongruous, that someone would be nerdy enough to use but not know how to pronounce it.
The relevant jargon file entry: jargonfile.johnswitzerland.com says explicitly about pronunciation, "never /siks/".

Ok, uninstalled and tried + for input. It works, but only for leafpad or other graphic programs, not for or /#vim.

Does anyone have a solution for using it also on terminal windows?

One of the reasons why i stick to is it provides : the original version on early !

The installer even provides an option for user to choose which they’re going to use, and make a symlink to it.

It seems that there are several versions of - didn't realize that

1. nvi 1.79 from, the original author Keith Bostic, which has no UTF-8 support but is still used by some *BSD variants sites.google.com/a/bostic.com/ no further development

2. nvi 1.81.6 from Sven Verdoolaege with Unicode support and DB3 locking (default in many Linux distros) repo.or.cz/nvi.git no further development

3. nvi2 2.1.3 - a multibyte fork github.com/lichray/nvi2 - development continues, last commit 19 days ago
