Pickings are slim for #WildflowerHourNYC after the deep freeze last weekend. So instead, here is a #nybg #mushroom that looks a little like a mum bloom.
September 2019 picture of a Chicken of the Woods (I think, please forgive and correct me mycologist friends) on a stump in New York Botanical Gardens sure does *look* like a beautiful bloom — a bit mum like in appearance. So maybe an honorary wildflower.

He married the famous #Bryologist Elizabeth Gertrude Knight.
Inspired by Kew Gardens, the couple co-founded the New York Botanical #Garden (#NYBG).
The botanist Henry #Rusby recounted seeing beautiful #Botanical drawings on Nathaniel's desk.
"[After he said] he was the #Artist, I asked, 'Can you #Draw like that?'
He said, 'Why do you suppose I did all that hard work in the drawing class?'"
