Last I heard NYC Parks didn't believe in porous pavement.

@gwagner "England is the only country in the world with a fully-privatized water and sewage system" did not know that. I do know that #nycdep feels it can't raise water and sewer rates to reflect reality.

Reading this article about #oysters in #NewYorkHarbor https://projects.thecity.nyc/oysters-new-york-harbor/ made me think of #swimming (which I do) in the harbor and #HudsonRiver and #EastRiver and #LongIslandSound which requires shoutouts to the #CleanWaterAct, #PlusPool, #Riverkeeper, #NYCDEP and so many other organizations.

Let it mellow #NYC ! With all this rain, the #sewage from our homes is combining with rainwater in the pipes underground, overwhelming treatment plants and leading to #CombinedSewageOverflow (aka #poop getting dumped into the harbor).
