He froze, too scared to touch her just in case he scared her away or offended her and she ate him. He wondered if she could read his thoughts; her bright red tongue ran across her needle-sharp fangs before she hummed with approval.

Started writing a story about #NyiRoroKidul - the #Indonesian Queen of the Southern Seas.

She flicked the water with blue-tipped fingers and smiled as he wiped the salt from his face, her full lips curving upwards to reveal pointed teeth. Terrifying and haunting; she was the most beautiful creature he'd ever seen. He smiled back. She bit the side of her bottom lip and laughed again—such a beautiful sound—and then the currents pushed him closer to her as if she had willed it.
