In 2019, NY State enacted a law entitled the "Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act." It sets goals for renewable energy in NY State: 70% by 2030 and 100% by 2040. In 2021, #NYSEG was between 15% and 20%, rising to 43% to 48% if you include nuclear. I know that some offshore wind farms will come on-line later in this decade, but NY has a long way to go.
Searching #NYSEG's web site for "Environmental Disclosure" led to the following chart. In 2021, natural gas, coal and oil accounted for 53% of NYSEG's electricity. Nuclear fission was 28%. Hydro-electric 11%. Solar and wind 4%. Pretty pathetic.
My girlfriend and I recently bought a #Leaf, Nissan's electric car. I wanted to know how much of the electricity we will put into to (from #NYSEG) is generated from #renewables. It took a lot of digging to get an answer.

If you live in NY State & are having issues with NYSEG or RG&E companies re: electric bills skyrocketing or meter readings being wrong, etc.
Here's a link 2 a website that is offering a public forum with the Public Service Commission (PSC) for NY State.
The more people that participate with this, the better chance the PSC will LISTEN to the Public's issues and the quicker things will get investigated.

Had to report the outage to #NYSEG (they’re usually much more on top of this stuff). Took a half hour to receive acknowledgement. Glad to see it’s getting light now. Was worried there’s a line down out there we couldn’t see. 17 customers without power; cause “investigating”
