The main problem I see with #WebAuthn is that integrating it into basically any other browser than #Nyxt in a useful system-interacting fashion is going to be beyond obnoxious.
By system-interacting, I mean that I should be able to make a gateway to store the keys on another qube and have client qubes only being able to query it.
@pleignjayne I'm waiting on Web Extensions support for #Nyxt so I can just shove #umatrix & #ublock on it.
There's otherwise nothing else from #Firefox I'd really miss.
Being able to add #CommonLisp modules to do whatever I want is much stronger than other userscripts extensions.
#nyxt #umatrix #ublock #firefox #commonlisp
A reddit user posted a survey link about the (future of the) #nyxt browser, an #Emacs like environment built on #webkit and #CommonLisp.
Unfortunately, the link is now showing that the survey is ended. Also, the poster doesn't appear to be officially affiliated with Nyxt. They also posted on discourse atlas.engineer (nyxt forum), where they are a regular user.
Does anyone know the situation, or the legitimacy of the survey?

@donkeyblam @Graycot #Nyxt also has a Vim mode... which would need more love for it to be up to par with its others.
ahós #fediverse !
Someone else using #Nyxt (2.2.4 version) browser on #Guix (1.4 version) willing to share experiences ?
Do you guys experience the same issues (it crashes frequently, so to speak...) ?
umh... What am i missing ?
PS : meanwhile, ... let me update to the latest version of and see how it goes !?
thanks, thanks, thanks
for your #help
So, #Nyxt... I gave it another try, inspired by @daviwil 's stream.
It's actually much better now, with a tutorial and manual with code examples. I've set up a theme, made a few simple functions, such as to scroll up / down half a page, which I bound to C-d and C-u.
Also managed to enable vim-style keybindings only for webpage buffers, and leave emacs-style keybindings for the prompt buffer, to replicate the experience I have in #emacs with Ivy.
One problem remains, however, and it's that I use non-standard screen scaling: my Xft.dpi is set to 120. And it seems like WebKitGTK cannot handle that as gracefully as other engines. Fonts are rendered a bit larger than they should be, which breaks the formatting on many websites.
With Xft.dpi: 96 there's no problem issue, but then everything is smaller than I'd like. And setting the default zoom level to something like 120% makes it even worse, because WebKitGTK doesn't zoom well either.
So... I guess #firefox with vim keys remains my choice for now.
@anthk I appreciate the intent, but at this point I'm mostly trying to phase out my direct use of various platforms and more generally #Firefox so that I can switch over to #Nyxt.
The main feature I do lack and which I do wonder if you have some replacement for, would be the #recommendation feature that #Youtube provides.
Or #Bandcamp's for that matter, they might be more ethical but it's still a #proprietary platform.
#firefox #nyxt #youtube #bandcamp #recommendation #proprietary
@izaya Still on old #FirefoxESR, is that mandatory? It'd make #uMatrix use quite a bit more obnoxious.
It also reminds me to check up again on #Nyxt to see how it has gotten along regarding #WebExtensions or uMatrix-like features, which were really the last few I need before finally dropping Firefox...

@daviwil Just watched the recording.
#Nyxt started to look interesting enough, now that there's a tutorial and a manual with code examples. Maybe it won't get to the versatility of Firefox, but I can see it becoming as usable as #qutebrowser.
And there has been *a lot* of commits since the version in the Guix repo.
I'll probably give it another shot soon enough.
highlight jump and and click hyperlinked headings page in a wiki entry #nyxt
C-M-j highlight
tab : jump next
return goto
C-b back to original
C-h b More bindings (badly documented)
I've been trying both Qutebrowser and Nyxt for a while now. I like them both, but Nyxt with Eamcs keybindings set feels more natural. Oh, and it's written in Common Lisp.
Up to now, I've kept Firefox as my primary browser, but now I'm going to really try to use Nyxt instead. If that fails for some reason, I'll switch to Qute and try to figure out how to set up reasonable keybindings for it.
My Google search history in #nyxt
Even from previous sessions
It has tab wise history and not browser wise
Not from myactivity.google.com , which is worst ui among the Google services
#emacslisp folks , correct me if i am wrong i feel that many Emacs packages can be extended for #nyxt too ,as both have init files , managed with melpa or equivalent
Are any of you working towards it ? Like taking it to #mozilla level?
I am all ears
