I came very close once to a TT job, but no cigar.

I've done good work (I think?) but never with any of the support that a tenured prof gets.

It's terrible to have a nagging feeling every day that you've worked *extremely* hard, only to feel you're not a "real" professor in the eyes of many.

Never thought I'd say this, but perhaps #AbolishTenure?
