@suldrew #OakDOT is trying out a less expensive intervention here in West Oakland. They've changed the light at 14th and Peralta to stay red in all directions for a couple of seconds before turning the signal green.

We call on #ACTransit and #oakdot to work together on an interim plan that includes two car travel lanes, expanded pedestrian spaces, wide protected bikeways, and supports a future for dedicated bus lanes!

Together a safe and vibrant #GrandAve will be our future

We also argued that we shouldn't need a pandemic to use simple design interventions to make our streets safer for bike and pedestrian uses! In fact we are living through an epidemic of #trafficviolence, and should respond with street interventions just like this. Glad to see #OakDOT bringing them back through safe street design.
