For such a small tree, this #redflowergum (pictured 5 mins ago) in #oakleighsouth #Australia has some impressive bloom.
It’s endemic to the SW of Western Australia. Though is one of the most commonly planted ornamental eucalypts in warmer regions throughout Oz!

#Proteacynaroides, also called the #kingprotea, is a distinctive member of Protea, having, apparently… the largest flower head in the genus.
The species is widely distributed in the southwestern and southern parts of South Africa.
This one was growing in abundance in #OakleighSouth #Australia on a busy road and Ive been observing it from a far for a week now.
It’s now perfect for a glorious photograph or two. So I didn’t waste this opportunity to share this beauty.

A colourful #japanesemaple is displaying proud in the #melbourne heat this evening. The shaded slight yellows merging with the red/brown is delightful.
Needs a watering and will receive respite in the form of shade in the next couple of hours. It has endured a run of hot-hot days of late.
These leaves appear a little heat affected I think, maybe due to dehydration too 🤔
Must put out a call to the rain-gods… or it’s human caretaker!
