Just finished reading Measure What Matters, a book about OKRs (Objectives and Key Results). Really excited about attempting to adopt at my workplace, but worried about how I as a single employee can make a difference. But perhaps the mantra of doing instead of just talking will be good enough.

This is why I try to distinguish between (near term) #objectives and (long term) #goals.

"Goals" are meaningful only to the extent they can be effectively specified, _within context_. And often, for _interesting_ goals, the future context can't be effectively specified by an agent operating within an environment of #uncertainty.

Better to act to promote present but evolving values—and iterate—than try and expect to achieve an imagined goal that can't be effectively specified.
