For some relevant kernel IRC channels, check out:
LinuxNet: #kernel, #korg, #x86
OFTC: #linux-rt, #objtool, #gcc, #llvm, #glibc
Libera: #armlinux, #u-boot, #gdb, #kernelci, #clangbuiltlinux
The first three channels on each network should be enough to reach most kernel folks. The rest are other active rooms IME.
Having a dedicated entry in MAINTAINERS is nice, too!
#kernel #korg #x86 #linux #objtool #gcc #llvm #glibc #armlinux #u #gdb #kernelci #clangbuiltlinux
Compiling the #Linux #kernel is known as memory intensive especially when processing vmlinux.o with #objtool. There is new work that is aiming at improving that. I can't seem to find any measurements but I'll be giving the patches a go.
Here is the patch set: https://lore.kernel.org/lkml/20221216-objtool-memory-v2-0-17968f85a464@weissschuh.net/
PS: Yes, the picture is a #pun.
