Just a quick toot to say () is not an adjective. It is a very debilitating illness that makes every day tasks and life so much harder. Stop saying "I am so OCD" if you don't actually have OCD (tbh, I don't think I've ever heard someone with OCD say that). It trivialises an illness that is incredibly difficult to live with, that requires you to get up every day to fight against ongoing intense anxiety, triggers and avoid compulsions and compulsion loops. Instead of saying it, please read more about OCD and learn more about what it involves and what we battle with on a daily basis.

I wasn’t sure I should post this story. In fact, I'm still not sure. As I get ready to press the Toot button, my heart rate is increasing, my head is spinning & I feel like I am going to have a panic attack.

But you can’t be what you can’t see. You can’t raise awareness if people don’t know you exist!

I've never been able to grow facial hair in my life (beyond stubble) because it plays very poorly with my Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder; once it gets past a certain length, the OCDemons in my brain start shrieking at me to get it off ASAP. However, I've managed to reduce my OCD symptoms to the lowest they've ever been in my adult life, and with the symptoms down, I've managed to grow a (thin) mustache! It doesn't look like much, but this is one of the biggest victories I've had in my mental health :)

Almost everything I make goes into trying to deal with this disorder. I’m fortunate I’m employed and in the field I am.

But boy is it hard.
