#iCloud Drive is great 95% of the time, the other 5% it’s simply infuriating. Hangs (“1 item, 8 kB left, LOL” for hours), stalls, randomly unsync’d files… I pay for the 200GB plan, mostly for Photos sync/storage, but even those €3/month are a hard sell at that point.
I just moved my #Strongbox DB onto my #WebDAV server, and my #ObsidianMD vault out of iCloud Drive, then signed up for #ObsidianSync. The latter was an easy decision: I want to add some Sync features to #ActionsForObsidian anyways.

Funnily enough this is an issue with #ObsidianSync on windows, works fine on iOS and Linux…
So more of a #pebcak and multi platform issue, but something that’d be good if #Obsidian warned about..

Seriously annoying with #ObsidianSync not downloading files with `?` in the file name, but #Obsidian doesn’t give a warning about illegal file name when creating them.
I’m working on a grant application and have created embedded notes for each question. Much easier than the slow web form that doesn’t let you edit within a paragraph, but needs to sync between machines :-/
@actionsdotwork BTW, even with Sync, I still have to close and open the vault on personal/work mac so plugin (core and community) configs are synced.
Weirdly, only works if I close and reopen the vault, not Obsidian (command+q).
So when I change computers, I open Obsidian, but then have to close and open the personal vault, that opened by default with Obsidian

After several recommendations and discovering that there is a #Todoist integration in #Obsidian, I'm giving it a test drive.
My company blocks icloud drive and I don't really want my personal files on my company computer anyway.
I've been playing with Github as a sync option, but it's a lot of work and cumbersome. Does anyone have anything to say about #ObsidianSync?

@boysmithers @joplinapp I subscribed to #JoplinSync - figured it was worth paying for. In my limited experience it worked very well and was worth the money.
I've since moved on to #Obsidian and am now subscribed to #ObsidianSync instead. More expensive, but still worth it.
