Just wanted to chime in on mention of ACL's (but by no means an expert).
In a W3C mailing list post which @cwebber called "Maybe the most important thing I've ever written (at least about computing)" ...

... there's a section called "ACL's considered harmful" and reference to this PDF paper:

Christine since started https://spritely.institute and is working on #ObjectCapabilities and #OCapN.
@vyr yes, I think I read the paper you mention a long time ago. Unfortunately the development of the #Spritely technology is big in scope and still at academic levels that are above my head. The prio for an AP integration may been dialed down in favor of a generic technology standard and the #OCapN. https://github.com/ocapn
Not an answer to your question, but #ForgeFed is looking into #CapnProto as an intermediate technology to use until Spritely becomes available.

Hi @erincandescent 👋
@ignis just pointed me to your great article on a "better moderation system for the social web". Thanks for that write-up!
I keep track of some notes in a #FediverseFutures topic on Federated Moderation, and will add a reference.
Ignis also dug up a great piece of writing by Christine Webber relating to #Spritely that you likely know about. It is in the same vein as yours, but has solution in the vNext of the #OCapN fedi.

Indeed. #Spritely is now developed within https://spritely.institute and preparing a standardization track of the "Object Capabilities Network" #OCapN
I mentioned on #Solid forum before that scope was unclear. On one hand providing "personal (linked) data vaults" as open standard, and on the other dedicated to The Next Web™ done the solid-way. The latter will have a huge technology adoption challenge.
Btw, that challenge also exists for Spritely. Long road ahead..
