Since hiding the root directory is only the default behavior on the mobile website (i.e. not on desktop), my interpretation makes the most sense, and requires the fewest extraneous assumptions. #OccamsRazor

Screen space is definitely a limiting factor on many mobile devices, particularly when viewing some repos where the root directory contains a long list of files and folders. When I'm on mobile, I'm usually only looking for the readme file, and not interested in reading the source code until I can use a full-size screen. I think it's a perfectly reasonable default behavior to hide the stuff that I'm probably just going to scroll right past anyway.

As for the assertion that MS is attempting to push users to their branded apps by nerfing the mobile site UX, here's a screenshot of the GitHub app for Android. Notice that it also hides the repo's root directory by default, just like the mobile site does, and probably for the very same reason I've just explained.

Sometimes #occamsrazor really applies well. Before I went to bed last night, I enagged #tcpdump, a tool that helps with network troubleshooting, to figure out where the failure point was. It was firewall-related and not routing. I learned that I really need to read up on how firewalling with #firewalld works. I assumed it was effecting iptables but actually nftables. I have a boat load of learning to do.

Is there a #covidTest conspiracy?

1. Throughout the last year's I've done many of the government issued Covid lateral flow years. In particular, after we returned to face to face teaching.

2. Last Friday, I started to feel bad, and did another one: clear negative.

3. The first batch of the new tests I bought myself arrived today: clear positive.

So, the question arises: have i, indeed, never had it, up to now? Or have the government issued tests failed to detect it for over two years?

Or (partially tongue in cheek conspiracy theorising, because I just failed to start working again): did the government issue tests had an intentionally high false negative rate to keep Covid numbers low to allow earlier opening of the economy?

Disclaimer: it could, of course, be that the old tests simply don't detect the new strains. But (a) they claim they do, and (b) why let #OccamsRazor get in the way of a good #conspiracyTheory

This print "Occam's Razor" is about the Law of Economy or Parsimony postulated by Scholastic philosopher William of Ockham (1287–1347), "pluralitas non est ponenda sine necessitate" or entities should not be needlessly multiplied. More simply this law, or really, rule of thumb is that the simplest explanation is usually right.

Went to pick up my 5th wheel from the dealership today and it had a dead battery. The truck was saying it wasn't charging the battery when connected. After 2 hours of troubleshooting, my wife said a fuse was missing from the truck. I said there was no way we've had this truck and RV for a year without noticing it wasn't charging the battery.
