Just a quick toot to say #ObsessiveCompulsiveDisorder (#OCD) is not an adjective. It is a very debilitating illness that makes every day tasks and life so much harder. Stop saying "I am so OCD" if you don't actually have OCD (tbh, I don't think I've ever heard someone with OCD say that). It trivialises an illness that is incredibly difficult to live with, that requires you to get up every day to fight against ongoing intense anxiety, triggers and avoid compulsions and compulsion loops. Instead of saying it, please read more about OCD and learn more about what it involves and what we battle with on a daily basis.

Not sure what the best way is to get the attention of #OCD folks or other neurodivergences, but this should serve as a good start.

As I continue my #MentalHealth journey, I've been noting behaviors that I'm trying to understand. Many #gamers find themselves in the situation where they cannot stop playing.

I stayed up late last night working toward a Victory in #CivilizationVI. I knew I had to work the next day. I'm very tired now. Why didn't I just go to bed and get back to the game later? Why did I have to finish my task?

Why do we do this to ourselves? How do we regain control?

And, yes, his #OCD manifests in much more than the stereotype. He has intrusive thoughts that scare the heck out of him as well. But he copes despite the circumstances and I am terribly proud of what he has just done and will still do in this story.🥺 🥰

It didn’t help. If anything, it made his obsession with being in /exactly/ the right position and state of mind before telling her his suspicion even worse.

Now that I have a #library card again, I've been excited to start exploring my very long "want to read" lists. Included in those are #books about #ADHD (to better understand how Hubz thinks and communicates) and #perfectionism (soy yo). I just started this book. I do not appreciate that on page TWO, the author described me so accurately that the very next chapter might as well have been called "Just Kidding Matt, This Is Actually Your Biography."

This is something I've wondered about; some of our #buns have had a very interesting way of eating fresh fruit - they look like they're trying to eat it while touching it with nothing except their #teeth - #lips pulled back, etc. I think they're trying to keep their lips/fur/whiskers from getting sticky.

They don't do it with dried fruit.

not sure where to rant. as a dude with #depression #anhedonia light #ocd #anxiety i just tend to feel underwhelmed, bored, jaded all the time. sometimes it equalizes, rarely but sometimes i get a little joy or whatever... on lexapro, no therapist... just feeling like everything is pointless. games aren't fun, nature isn't fun, film and news and sports aren't fun. it feels like torture. i take tech breaks, and again it's just boring itchy nature and sitting around. bleck.
