As part of our Network for #OceanWorlds retreat, we had a lab day where we collected samples off the dock and used the laboratory facilities of the Wrigley Marine Science center.
(Stay tuned, in this thread there will be an important implications for #astrobiology)
Thread on marine lab day.
Here we are lowerig a plankton collection net into the water near the dock.
The Network for Ocean Worlds has an excellent YouTube channel with presentations from their lecture series.
(Full disclosure: I was one of the presenters on life in Deep Ice and was also a member the next year of the selection committee.)

Quick article, cool-o graphics of those places, ad short quotes feom Chris German (WHOI), Steve Vance (JPL) and myself (also JPL).
And yes, those moons are #OceanWorlds.
Turns out a compressed gas cart is really handy for moving ice cores.
Kicked out of a downstairs lab freezer, I'm using the freight elevator in the Science building to move to another lab freezer at Jet Propulsion Laboratory.
One of these is a section of firn ice from GISP2.
What am I gonna do with these?
Wait and see......
