I'm an aging, retired in fact, person somewhat of your ilk. I dabble in #R, #PDL, #Yorick, #Euler, and #Octave. #Python wasn't so much the thing in my day as it is now, so I never used it.

I'll boost your request so you can hopefully find younger and more active practitioners.

You've probably heard all the stories about #ymasumac being a fake persona. Well that's as maybe but there's nothing fake about that #voice. She could do it live, 1950 live.

I mean, #Matlab is a pretty powerful tool, but the editor is just terrible compared to any #IntelliJ #IDE or even #VSCode. But there's one thing that is even worse than that: When you're stuck using GNU #Octave. Nothing about the Octave UI is ergonomic or comfortable.

updating octave's monster rules! the previous version just copy/pasted the bit from knave about converting monsters from D&D bestiaries but i feel like that doesn't work as well with octave, so it no longer relies on that.

added a bunch of example statblocks to better communicate what they look like in practice, so it's easier for GMs to homebrew their own.

i like how they turned out. nice and zelda-y

i've been struggling with deciding what to do with one of my knave hacks for a while, since i like it better than my already-released game #octave but i also worried it's too similar to octave to warrant its own release.

the solution i settled on was just to take all its best ideas and use those as the base for a new version of octave. i was already planning to revise it anyway.

throwing together a zelda-inspired setting for #octave and putting my own spin on typical zelda races (partly bc i have to make them legally distinct anyway, but any opportunity to be creative is a silver lining)

@runjaj me encantó #Scilab en los 90, cuando estaba buscando una alternativa abierta a #Matlab y no había #Octave para Mac OS (nótese las mayúsculas y el espacio). Por compatibilidad de scripts, acabé utilizando #RLab2, pero siempre me quedó el afecto por #Scilab…

2. start changing passwords and use a password manager.
