What #AirQuality #Sensors are people using for their #SmartHomes running #Thread, #Matter, and #homekit ?

I have #OctoPrint and a #3dPrinter and among other maker projects running and I would like to make sure I am properly tracking Air Quality throughout the house. #VOC #CO2 #PPM , etc... I even saw a Formaldehyde sensor. But it's so very hard to find sensors that work with homekit / thread / matter.

@ScaredyCat You'll have problems with TPU on all budget machines and ui wise grab a cheap raspberry pi clone and bang #octoprint onto it, then you have a nice web interface and access to a nice plugin ecosystem.

What are some fun automations to try?

Added Cura and #FreeCAD to my Gaming PC, so that in the future, as I design up small projects, I can document the design process for others to see if they are interested. With an #Octoprint plugin, I may stream that on my gaming channel, but the general idea is to have it on It's own channel. Thinking that channel may become a streaming channel for the 3d printers. We'll see.

As a side note, I've had a camera feed from my 3d printer feeding into my game stream before. That works.

@foosel I'm tempted to come over and buy you icecream or something in appreciation of your work on #OctoPrint while you're that close by.

Designed up an angle Guide in #FreeCAD, with the expectation that the blade in the design can be replaced with a metal blade, later. Exported the parts as 3mf files, that #Cura imported to the wrong spots, but moved them and dumped into #Octoprint. Now printing on the Ender3Pro and am hoping that the 8 hour prediction is closer than the 'running prediction of 17 hours. It should be. After about 20 layers it's a couple of 6mm wide walls for most of the rest of the print.

@foosel More than happy to be kept in the loop. Since #OctoPrint is open source we may be able to help you out with migration at cost (or cover completely with hosting, but I imagine you want to self host?)

Grabbed a few of those Logitech C270s for really cheap so I’m thinking… dedicated spool cam?

The filament runout sensor doesn’t work with #OctoPrint (thanks #Prusa) so I have to run the printer without when I get low. But then I never really know when it runs out. #3DPrinting

Update to my #3dPrinting lab. Finally ditched the Pi running #octoprint for the Ender 5+ and got it running in a container on the Linux MBP.

I wanted each printer to be a self-contained compose file and I ran into problems with Traefik's service discovery with two instances of it running on one Docker socket: it did not behave the way I expected. You gotta label and constrain.

Once I got that out of the way, I did a simultaneous test printing: it didn't even measure on CPU or memory load.

Actually, something similar happened a while back. Quite interesting.

#Octoprint implements the timekeeping using the operating system's time or something like that, I haven't personally looked at that part of the code yet.

So if you print during the time daylight savings time is activated and deactivated. Your print would "finish" an hour before it started, due to the graph flipping out.

It's one of those hilarious bugs you would never think about. Maybe @octoprint or @foosel can shed some light on this.
