Like I need 80% of #ActivityPub implemented before I can even effectively test it. The same is true with #JsonLD.

Compare with, say, #gopher, or #STOMP, #ODBC, or #AMQP. Or even patterns like #REST. Even at their most complex I can get started writing something for them with no issue whatsoever, and libraries already exist in most major languages.

Where do you even _begin_ with AP?

I am/was trying to find out if any Mastodon projects exist that are decoupled from #PostgreSQL — ideally via #ODBC.

Quest:
Existence of an #ODBC binding for Mastodon that decouples it from #PostgresSQL.

#MySQL only comes into play due to our mysql2odbc library for decoupling MySQL apps.

Based on our expertise and 30+ years of experience re #DataAcces, #DataConnectivity (ODBC and #JDBC), and DBMS tech (see our #VirtuosoRDBMS), I know we can build such a binding if need be.

Initially though, I am curious about what may already exist rather than what’s possible 😊
