as such, whenever dev pushes a patch to lower difficulty in single-player portions of games (here: bosses in #ArmoredCore) it strikes me as a bit #ODD; especially when the bosses were not #ThatHard
is it a sales thing? are we worried that the game having a reputation of being "too hard" would hurt future adoption?

Mine would also be D&D, specifically the LBBs of OD&D. My first time with it was using the first published module, Palace of the Vampire Queen by Wee Warriors (1976). Very memorable campaign and where I first experienced a DM strictly adhering to the resource management aspect of the old game, which opened a new gaming world for me.

I took home a lot about how to communicate better, how to foster choice and autonomy, how to help reduce anxiety and provide a safe place with both structure and flexibility.
