Cycled around this afternoon to hand out water and fruits to firefighters. I was in the area that was affected heavenly by the fire. As far as the eye can see, everything is black and grey.

Almost 9000 hectares burned. Unbelievably almost no houses were affected.

This is heartbreaking, such a big fire going on in the area of #Odeceixe Portugal. We live close by (7km). So we keep a very close eye to see if we have to evacuate from the forest with our van. Luckily for us, the wind goes the other direction. But above al, it is heartbreaking for Mother Earth.
