When #ODOT spent $3M (of "All Roads Lead to Safety [if you're in a car, but still obivously not really because we kill a lot of #drivers]" money) to make an on-ramp traffic swirley around a grocery store, they chose to prioritize vehicle volumes and speeds over safety. The similar-looking mile of Cap Hwy south of here was, just a few years prior, reallocated with quick-build materials at a cost of $250k/mile. It's about 8 miles to downtown #Portland. Somebody please help us with this math π₯΄

@oclsc Last I looked, there was still no actual progress towards extending 821/822 to NEW. If they announce another study, I quit - all the previous ones say it's the easiest option with the best cost/benefit. If BNSF can keep the train on time, the current schedule even works with 3/4.

Does #ODOT do all it can to make streets safer? Or does the agency decide close 181 crosswalks in #PDX area to reduce its liability?
Who will suffer?
