@sammi Thanks for the suggestions but I am not a senior and I have spent several years trying to access these services. They are either unavailable or inappropriate for my needs. It has been heartbreaking and humiliating TBO.

I need to be in a kind of care for #chronicIllness folks that doesn't exist yet. Basically hospice care for ppl not dying. Light support, focus on comfort and quality of life, rest and hopefully some recovery.

What they have going on in Junction Village Guelph is what I would like to model it after, except we need the soft place to land of a core recovery house to start with, then go back to your life or find a cohort to build a co-living home within the area (depending on whether you needed a break or a new living arrangement).

I am trying to find a dentist who will accept ODSP recipients and so far all of the ones I have contacted either doesn't accept ODSP or did not respond at all.

I have a dream. A dream where people with long illness etc can convalescence somewhere lightly supported where we are well fed, and can rest, walk, stretch, nap as much as we need to. A community where we share tips, experiences, humour, and companionship.

Kinda like a hospice, but for people who need help living. Or an intentional household with shared supports.

I say that my #MentalHealth issues are in remission. Turns out I still have triggers. On Friday I got a letter saying my #disability payments were being suspenced. I had a difficult weekend involving not sleeping much and venting to my friends. Showed up at the #ODSP office on Monday and they said it was resolved; letter was generated automatically. I'm okay now, but I learned about my strengths and weaknesses. My general upbeat attitude is kind of a facade.

Instead of “severe disabilities”, I had intended “significant”. However, I often tweet about #ODSP benefits being grossly inadequate for persons with severe disabilities. Predictive text 🤷‍♂️
