Also worked on updating #UBoot for #Guix running on a fairly #DIY #OffGrid #Solar system, though I did not directly ingest any boot firmware or solar energy...

Independent enough for one day, I suppose.

My panels are humming along producing 291 watts in full sun right now (~73% rated capacity on a 400W array)...

I could easily fit ~1500W of panels on the roof, but still using pretty small batteries and hoping to downsize to a smaller space soon.

But I also have lots of options for network and even grid connectivity, I'm barely even #offgrid.

Discovered a surprise with my little #solar system...

A bit of a cold spell here in Cascadia, with temperatures expected -5C or -18C!!

There is a temperature cut-off on the battery management controller to avoid damaging the batteries, which disables *both* charging and discharging.

Batteries rated for charging ~0C, but discharging down to -20C. But you need to charge them to balance the cells...

So running heaters on the grid for my #offgrid system... Hrm.
Keeps my toes/batteries warmer.

No fridge, mostly my day-to-day office computing. I admittedly cheat quite a bit on #offgrid by having easy access to another space that's on the grid. :)
