Can’t blame the classic #offByOne bug this time 🫣

The feeling when your discover that your sampled sine waveform had an #offbyone error which (1) caused it to be ever so slightly asymmetrical and (2) made the average of one full cycle 127.5 instead of 128 (which this design defines as the zero level). #electronics

But again I had an off-by-one error. Discovered the error on part one, but forgot it some minutes later on part two 🙈

The feeling when you program a microcontroller for a 4 second periodic interrupt, measure 4.03125 seconds, and when trying to calculate the amount of compensation you realize that you have an #offbyone tick error which equates to 31.25ms. After fixing it, you get 4.00000241 seconds on the counter. 🤦‍♂️ Not bad for #ATmega48 with a 32768Hz crystal. 😎 #electronics
