I have my monitor, keyboard and printer connected to an Anker docking station. It means I can just swap laptops that connet to the docking station via USB-C, and everything works.

What are people’s solutions to this problem? Should I just bite the bullet and buy a connector for the screen up top? If so, is there a way to avoid it being “two screens”? (Ideally I’d just wanna use the external screen in that case).

I’m also open to a different desk setup (e.g. getting something to raise the MacBook itself) but then I’d need another keyboard for the MacBook at the right height which I suspect wouldn’t fit).

Now, this setup is causing me literal pain (in the neck).

The laptop is not connected to the monitor (because I don’t have a connector), and despite a fantastic chair there’s no possible good angle with a MacBook Air where my hands are at the right height and I’m not looking down.

Also bear in mind that I really do like being able to move the laptop around. I don’t always wfh, and ideally I don’t wanna have to keep switching connections between the laptop and my desktop.

Seeing how a lot of y’all are computer inclined, I’m looking for suggestions (please boost!).

This is my current work setup due to a mixture of lack of space, an uncertain move to wfh (yes, back in 2020, but if I’d known I would have prepared for it rather than playing catch up), and my eternal procrastination.
